Frequently asked questions about TriGas alarm

Can the TriGas also be installed in a panel van or van?
Yes, the Linnepe TriGasAlarm can also be easily installed in panel vans and vans. It is suitable for motorhomes, panel vans and vans.
Can you install the TriGas next to the door or window?
No, the TriGas should not be used in places with strong drafts, such as: E.g. next to windows, doors or ventilation slots. Fresh air can dilute the gas concentration, so that the sensor does not detect gas or only detects it with a delay.
Do I have to route the cables behind the panel?
For safety reasons and for a tidy appearance, the cables should be routed behind the paneling.
Does the additional sensor have to be installed 10 cm below the vehicle ceiling, or can it be swapped with the location of the main device?

The main device and additional sensor can both be installed near the ceiling. It is important that there is enough space (approx. 10 cm) around the devices so that the air can circulate.

How and which fuse must be installed?
A 2 amp fuse is required, which is installed between the sensor and the body battery. The fuse should be located near the battery.
How are the TriGas and the additional sensor installed in the vehicle?
The TriGas is mounted on a wall at a height of approx. 10cm. In order to function properly, the electrical connection must be made directly to the 12-volt body battery. The additional sensor is attached approx. 10cm below the ceiling. A central location in the living area is ideal - preferably close to sleeping areas, but not near windows, doors or vents to avoid false alarms caused by drafts.
How do you turn off the TriGas after an alarm?
Pressing the top once during the audible signal will deactivate the alarm sound.
How long is the external sensor cable?
The cable is approx. 2m long and can be extended up to 3m.
How long is the TriGas cable?
The cable is approx. 2m long and can be extended up to 3m.
Is the TriGasAlarm suitable for continuous operation?

No. The TriGasAlarm was developed for monitoring at night. This means: You switch the gas alarm on when you go to bed and off again when you get up in the morning. Continuous operation can lead to malfunctions or false alarms

Which power sources can the TriGasAlarm be connected to?

The TriGasAlarm must be connected to a 12-volt battery. Operation via an inverter can lead to malfunctions.

Why doesn't the TriGas react to carbon monoxide?
Carbon monoxide has almost the same density as air and is distributed evenly throughout the room. Therefore, the sensor cannot reliably detect it.
